Acupuncture

What is Veterinary Acupuncture?

  Veterinary acupuncture supports the balance and free flow of your pet’s vital life force or Qi. Many factors can block the flow of Qi. When the flow of Qi is interrupted, the body becomes imbalanced and disease may occur. Stimulating acupuncture points with small needles or light therapy can relieve these blockages and rebalance the system, enabling your pet’s body to heal.

Most pets find acupuncture relaxing!

Would your pet benefit from acupuncture?

At Thrive we  recommend acupuncture treatment for animals who have:

  • arthritis, joint or back pain, athletic injuries;
  • digestive problems;
  • chronic medical conditions (asthma, kidney disease, liver disease, Cushings disease, or thyroid diesease);
  • seizures, neurologic or behavior issues;
  • skin problems;
  • a need for health maintenance and enhanced quality of life.

How long before my pet feels better?

Acupuncture sessions at Thrive Wholistic Veterinary Care may take 20 to 45 minutes. Results can be seen immediately in some pets, however most patients require several treatments occurring 1-2 weeks apart:

  • Initial Acupuncture Exam/Treatment  $145
  • Follow-up Acupuncture Treatment $110
  • Electroacupuncture Treatments  $30 additional

ACUPUNCTURE AT Thrive is special

Deeper Relaxation

  Sessions at Thrive may combine acupuncture treatment with the Rideway BioMat - a therapy of  deeply penetrating Far Infrared heated rays, Negative Ions (calming earth frequencies), and the superconducting benefits of alternating Amethyst and Tourmaline crystals . This pairing creates synergy for  optimal balance, well-being and healing. Essential oils may also be used at acupuncture points to stimulate specific points with vibrational energy for a unique experience.

Electroacupuncture

Electroacupuncture has greater and longer lasting effects than other techniques. It is especially helpful for nerve pain, disc disease, and other nerve related conditions. Small electrical currents are applied to the acupuncture needles to stimulate acupuncture points and promote healing.
